Ah, the stitches came out today. I have a fresh set of steri-stripsĀ in place, but after I let them “cure” for 24 hours, I won’t have to cover my shoulder when I’m in the shower or deal with any more [cumbersome, bulky, uncomfortable, yukky, stupid] dressings.
I can’t remember the last time I had stitches. The last several procedures have required staples. The medical assistant that removed them was terrific getting them out — or Dr. Burkhead was amazing putting them in. I didn’t feel a thing.
I go back in two weeks for my follow-up visit with the doc. Hopefully then I can ditch my sling and start back on Enbrel.
Things are good here. Hope things are good with you as well. Thanks for checking in.
The very idea of staples in my skin gives me the shudders — though if I think about it, so do stitches.
Glad they came out easily and your recovery continues going well. Have a terrific weekend!
Good to hear that things are going so well for you, Carla. That’s great!
