Escaped from Presbyterian yesterday. It was a whirlwind of activity and I got pretty tuckered, so I didn’t get a chance to update the blog. Whenever you come home from the hospital after surgery, you get to learn new ways of doing things — like getting in and out of bed. It’s neither easy nor pretty. But with Jack’s persistence and good nature (and my lack of patience) we’re managing. Some areas of our bedroom are a bit tight and I keep worrying that we’re going to gash the bedroom furnishing with walkers and other implements of torture. Jack did take one door off its hinges becasue it was such a tight squeeze.

Today I’ve been up, gotten in the shower (that was wonderful) and feel semi-human again, although the pain has decided to show up in spades — I guess since I’ve been getting up and down. The home health nurse shows up today as does my friend Pat to give Jack the window of opportunity to take care of some client meetings. My home physical therapist doesn’t show up until Monday.

I keep feeling my right leg is longer than my left, but it is probably just swollen. I go back to see Dr. Tucker in two weeks, so we’ll see then. I don’t even want to contemplate what that would mean.

I’ll add more when I get more energy. Thanks for checking in.
