This time 30 days from now I’ll be in the midst of rotator cuff surgery. It seems like it’s been scheduled forever, but I’m far from ready for it. I had great intentions this weekend of practicing having my right arm in a sling to figure out the less-obvious things that I’d have problems with, but that didn’t work out. However, I did buy a powered toothbrush because previous attempts of brushing my teeth left-handed resulted in such a mess I thought I’d have to call a HazMat squad to control the toothpaste spill. I also have my hair dryer stand so I can blow dry my hair one-handed, and I have been practicing some daily activities left-handed, so at least I’m doing SOMETHING.
I’ve always been an active participant in my health care and even more so with so much information on the Internet. When I had my hip and shoulder replacement surgeries I read and watched everything I could find. However, for some reason, I’m having a hard time watching the videos of rotator cuff surgery. Not sure why it makes me as queasy as it does. I just hope they don’t get in there and find something they’re not expecting.
It’s going to be a busy 30 days between now and then, so I don’t have much time to worry about it, which is probably a good thing.
Hope you have good things in your future. Thanks for checking in.
