Judging by some of the posts I’ve been reading, I’m not the only one suffering from the summer blahs. It’s August in spades in Dallas. Theoretically we’re going to have some scattered storms come through over the weekend and the temps will finally drop to under 100 degrees. We’ve had a streak of 100 to 110 degree weather for the last 10 days.
On top of the heat, I’m not feeling great. I don’t know whether it’s the heat, the RA, or just fatigue from working 60 hour weeks, but something’s sure wearing me down. I had to go to the dentist to get a crown started on a back molar this week, and my mouth is still sore, so that’s not helping.
Next week I have to go to Los Angeles for a couple of days on business. I not only am going to miss my husband’s birthday, my flight home Friday gets in after midnight. Yuk.
But all this, as they say, will pass. In four weeks I get a break and am meeting hubby out in Las Vegas for a long weekend. Lots of sleep, spa, good food, and entertainment. Plus it will be September and by then we’ll be on the downhill slide into fall weather.
Hope you’re staying cool (in all the appropriate ways). Thanks for checking in.
Wow Carla! It sounds like you are in need of a break. I have heard that sometimes teeth problems can add to an overall yucky feeling of the body. Maybe your body is recuperating?
Sending good thoughts that you make it the next four weeks with ease and enjoy your vacation 100%.
Anyone who’s coped with 100+ degrees of heat for the last 10 days while working such crazy hours is entitled to whine, Carla. I’m glad the temp will be coming down some along with a chance to rest a little. I grump about the summer heat myself (no kidding? heh) but I really should be more mindful — we’ve broken 100 here in the mountains exactly once since summer began. And while we’ve had some humidity here and there (which is unfamiliar to us dry Californians) it’s been nothing compared to other parts of the country. I am officially humbled.
Here’s hoping you have a lovely, restful weekend and that you’ll feel terrific throughout. Stay cool! 😉
The heat, the long work hours, and the RA are likely collaborating. No wonder you’ve been feeling blah!
Looking forward to a get-away sounds like a good thing. I hope you find that the cooler weather helps.
