There is an old saying that says, “I can resist anything but temptation.”
I will promise you that there isn’t a diet out there that stands a chance against good food combined with Southern hospitality. I spent a long weekend in a nearby (Southern) state to visit family. And let me tell you, there are both great cooks in my family along with some really good Southern restaurants. Let’s just say I was on the non-Paleo / Seefood diet this weekend. (That’s where I see food and eat it, regardless of whether it’s Paleo-friendly or not.)
The trip was great and it was wonderful to catch up with family I haven’t seen in a while.
The downside is a combination of long hours of driving coupled with sleeping in strange beds and eating (a lot) of non-Paleo foods. I’ve got a bit of diet and exercise to go before I fully recover from the trip!
Otherwise, things are good. I got my lab results from my PCP and everything looks good there. Going to see my rheumy in two days, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that visit goes equally as well.
