It’s been busy and I haven’t had much of a chance to post the last few days, so I thought I’d provide an update.
The “off the hard RA drugs and on to Mobic” experiment seems to be working. Yes, I have some aches and pains and twinges, but after more than 40 days off the Orencia and Arava, I haven’t had any swollen joints or flares, and the few issues I’ve had haven’t been any worse than they were on the DMARDs.
The worst part about the Mobic is the havoc that my poor digestive system is undergoing. Of course before surgery I was on iron, and Mobic, and antibiotics, then continued antibiotics for my root canal after surgery, then more antibiotics for my regular dental cleanup. My rheumatologist increased the Mobic dosage from 7.5 mg to 15 mg which really caused issues (even with two Protonix a day). I’ve now refilled my 7.5 mg and am hopeful that it will continue to provide the relief I seek and alleviate some of the gastric distress.
In other news, my husband took a long walk yesterday (3.2 miles) and my knee is doing great. (I have blisters on my feet from new shoes, but my knee is doing super.)
So all, in all, progress is being made.
I hope that you are making progress in those things important in your life as well. Thanks for checking in.
